FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

General questions about ClipDeck first, then anything specific to an individual tool.

What video quality do I get from a Reel download?

Whatever Instagram's CDN serves for that Reel, usually up to 1080p, shown to you before you download. We never upscale or re-encode it.

Can I download just the audio from a Reel?

Yes. The Instagram Audio Downloader pulls the sound out as an MP3. You can also save the full Reel here and extract the audio yourself.

Which Instagram videos does this work on?

Any public one. Feed videos, Reels and the longer uploads that used to be called IGTV all resolve from the same link box, because Instagram serves them from the same CDN. Private accounts stay out of reach.

What quality do I get, and is there a watermark?

Whatever the CDN serves for that upload, usually up to 1080p, shown before you download. Nothing is upscaled, re-encoded or stamped, so you get the file the creator uploaded.

Does this work on posts with multiple photos?

A single photo post works here. For posts with more than one image, use the Instagram Carousel Downloader. It lists every slide separately.

Will the photo have a watermark?

No. You get the same JPEG Instagram's CDN holds. Nothing is added, cropped or re-encoded.

Do I get every slide, or just the first one?

Every slide. Each photo and video in the post gets its own direct download link, all listed together after you paste.

Can a carousel mix photos and videos?

Yes, and each item downloads in its native format: JPEG for photos, MP4 for videos. You do not have to sort them yourself.

What audio quality do I get?

128kbps MP3, converted straight from the original video's audio track. There is no re-recording and no extra pass of re-encoding beyond that conversion.

Does this work on a photo post?

No. Audio extraction needs a video or Reel with a soundtrack. A photo only post has no audio track to pull.

Is IGTV still a separate feature on Instagram?

No. Instagram folded IGTV into regular video posts in 2022. IGTV here just means the longer uploads that used to live under that name, and the link format is the same as any other Instagram video.

Is there a length limit on what I can download?

None on our side. You get whatever length Instagram's CDN serves for that upload, up to the roughly 60 minute cap Instagram itself allows.

Why is the profile picture smaller than other downloads?

Instagram serves profile photos at a fixed size, usually 320 x 320px, no matter what the owner uploaded. That is an Instagram limit, not something we can raise.

Do I need to log in to view someone's profile picture?

No. A public account's profile picture is visible without logging in. Private accounts still need the owner's approval to view anything, the profile photo included.

Is it legal to download Instagram videos?

Saving your own content, or content you have permission to save, is not a legal problem. Reposting someone else's work without permission can infringe their copyright, whether or not the account is public.

Do I need to log in to my Instagram account?

No. ClipDeck never asks for your Instagram credentials and never stores a session for you. Every tool here, the story viewer included, works without you signing in to anything.

Will this work on a private account?

No. Private accounts need the owner's approval to view, and we will not work around that. Only public posts, Reels, profiles and stories resolve.

What resolution do I actually get?

Whatever resolution Instagram serves for that upload, shown to you before you click download. Usually up to 1080p for video. We never upscale or re-encode, so you get the same file Instagram's CDN holds.

Do you store the files I download?

No. Each result is a temporary signed link created for that one request. Nothing is cached or archived on our side once the link expires.

Why did my link fail to resolve?

Usually a private account, a deleted or expired post, or a URL copied incorrectly. The error message tells you which one it was rather than failing silently.

Can I use this on my phone?

Yes. It works in any modern mobile browser on iOS and Android, with nothing to install. Where a mobile browser blocks a direct download, we show you the fallback instead of failing quietly.
