What video quality do I get from a Reel download?
Whatever resolution Instagram's CDN serves for that specific Reel — typically up to 1080p — shown to you before you download. We don't upscale or re-encode.
Can I download just the audio from a Reel?
Yes — the Instagram Audio Downloader extracts just the sound as an MP3, or you can download the full Reel here and extract the audio yourself.
Does this work on posts with multiple photos?
A single-photo post works here. For posts with more than one image, use the Instagram Carousel Downloader instead — it lists every image in the post separately.
Will the photo have a watermark?
No. You get the same JPEG file Instagram's CDN holds — nothing is added or re-encoded.
Do I get every slide in the carousel, or just the first one?
Every slide. Each photo and video in the post resolves to its own direct download link, shown together after you paste the link.
Can a carousel mix photos and videos?
Yes — Instagram carousels can combine both, and each item downloads in its native format: JPEG for photos, MP4 for videos.
What audio quality do I get?
128kbps MP3, extracted directly from the original video's audio track — no re-recording or extra re-encoding beyond that conversion.
Does this work on a photo post?
No — audio extraction needs a video or Reel with a soundtrack. A photo-only post has no audio track to extract.
Is IGTV still a separate feature on Instagram?
No — Instagram folded IGTV into regular video posts in 2022. "IGTV" here just means the longer-form uploads that used to live under that name; the link format is the same as any other Instagram video post.
Is there a length limit on what I can download?
No limit on our side — you get whatever length Instagram's CDN serves for that upload, up to the roughly 60-minute cap Instagram itself allows for long-form video.
Why is the profile picture smaller than other downloads?
Instagram serves profile photos at a fixed size — typically 320×320px — regardless of the original image uploaded. That's an Instagram limit, not something we can bypass.
Do I need to log in to view someone's profile picture?
No — a public account's profile picture is visible without logging in. Private accounts still require the account owner's approval to view anything, including the profile photo.
Is it legal to download Instagram videos?
Downloading your own content, or content you have explicit permission to save, is not a legal problem. Downloading someone else's content and reposting it without permission can infringe their copyright regardless of whether the account is public.
Do I need to log in to my Instagram account?
No. This site never asks for your Instagram credentials and never stores a session. Tools that would require a login to work — stories and highlights — are marked as unsupported instead of faking it.
Will this work on a private account?
No. Private accounts require an authenticated session to view, and we deliberately don't implement Instagram login. Only public posts, Reels, and profiles resolve.
What resolution do I actually get?
Whatever resolution Instagram serves for that specific upload, shown to you before you click download — typically up to 1080p for video. We don't upscale or re-encode; you get the same file Instagram's CDN holds.
Do you store the files I download?
No. Each result links directly to a temporary, signed URL generated for that request. Nothing is cached or archived on our side after the link expires.
Why did my link fail to resolve?
The most common causes are a private account, a deleted or expired post, or a URL copied incorrectly. Status-specific reasons are covered in the guides section.
Can I use this on my phone?
Yes — the tool works in any modern mobile browser on iOS and Android. Where a mobile browser blocks direct downloads, we show a fallback instruction instead of a silent failure.
